Woman dies from using phone at petrol station
A 25 year old woman suffered 60% degree burns while she was using her mobile phone in her car, on Tuesday (yesterday) as her car was being refuelled at a petrol station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Witness said the woman had placed the nozzle in the receptacle when the phone rang, then moved into the back seat and closed the door to answer the call.
The phone exploded while she was answering the call but luckily there was no fire following the explosion.
Lessons; endeavour not to answer phone calls at any petrol station while you or anyone is refuelling.

Istanbul Airport attacked by suicide bombers
At least 36 people were killed by suicide bombers at the Istanbul Airport in Turkey.
No group has taken responsibility yet for the attack.
The airport has reopened, Wednesday hours after.
Could ISIS be responsible? Very sad indeed to constantly have to worry about religion and terrorism. How can anyone believe he/she would make heaven or inherit virgins for killing innocent people?

Fighting corruption and crashing or growing the economy
It is possible to fight corruption and grow the economy at the same time, even with low oil price. It makes no sense to keep blaming oil price and past regimes for crashing a once thriving economy.
97% vs 5% appointment policy highlighted by a twitter handle
Has this got to do with the appointment of the acting Inspector-General of Police?
This policy can't build a united country and it makes nonsense of the effort of those who fought and died for her unity.

Synagogue Church auditorium has no valid building permit says former Lagos Commissioner
A former Lagos State Commisioner for Physical Planning and Urban Developmeny, Mr. Olutoyin Ayinde, said that the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) does not have a valid building permit for its auditorium. He said the document in the Electronic Document Management System of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) showed that a five-storey building approval was meant for the church auditorium but the building was extended to eight floors which means that the approval the church had for the building permit was no longer valid.
Mr. Ayinde who is the second prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of Trustees of SCOAN and two engineers involved in the construction of the collapsed guesthouse, which led to the death of 116 persons (mostly South Africans) on September 12, 2014, made the revelation on Tuesday at an Ikeja High Court presided by Justice Lawal-Akapo.

See Land Rover pulling a 100-tonne train
Land Rover Discovery Sport towed a 100-tonne train, the equivalent of a Boeing 757 along a railway bridge in an extreme towing test.
The £30,000 car pulled the train six miles along a rail track in Northern Switzerland.
The train was 60 times heavier than the 4x4 SUV and same weight as a Boeing 757.
The car was put to test as it pulled the three train carriages along the rail track on Hemishofen bridge, 85 feet above the River Rhine.
According to Dailymail, residents of the town watched as the car which has a maximum towing weight of 2.5 tonnes pulled the train, which is some 60 times its own weight in a study carried out to demonstrate the towing capabilities of the all-terrain vehicle.
Wow....wonders on wheel.

The Maritime University temporary site in Okerenkoko |
The Ijaw Youth Council had earlier released a press statement that the land for the permanent site was purchased for 2billion naira and not 13billion naira as insinuated by Mr. Roti Amaechi, the Minister for Transport. The IYC said that the 13billion naira was used in buying a fully equipped modern diving school belonging to Tompolo, to serve as the temporary site for the university.

Petroleum Minister Ibe Kachikwu openly opposed Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi on Maritime University, Okerenkoko
Rotimi Amaechi who is against the proposed maritime university in Delta State said "my argument about Okerenkoko is that land alone is 13billion naira, if you give me 13billion naira, I will buy half of Lagos. That 13billion naira has built the university already, so no need to spend more money. What to do, let EFCC retrieve the money from them and release them, then we will build the university, if they bring the 13billion naira, I will build it for them."
Ibe Kachikwu on his part said "first let me say on Maritime University, I disagree with the minister of transport. Any facility that is placed in the south south, we should work towards developing it. I don't care the circumstances under which we are placed... it is not my position to determine whether land was valued at 19billion naira or 10billion naira or 3billion naira. the appropriate institutions which are the court systems will determine that. That has nothing to do with the development of the infrastructure. As far as I know, so much has gone into that property. So much fiscal assets has been developed. We are not going to throw away the baby with the bath water. We will deal with the issues but the university will be developed. If Amaechi doesn't want it as maritime university, I will take it up as petroleum university."
"on issue of negotiation, again, I disagree with Amaechi? There is no theatre in the world where conflicts are Being resolved through battle. It does not matter who is wrong or who is right."
Rotimi Amaechi and Ibe Kacikwu were both speaking at the South South Town Hall Meeting in Uyo on Monday.

Goodluck Jonathan speaks at Bloomberg TV
Former President Goodluck Jonathan was at Bloomberg to give a speech on democracy. He was accompanied by Senator Ben Bruce and former media aide, Reno Omokri.
Read some of the things Jonathan said at Bloomberg.
"Since leaving office one year and one week ago. I have had the luxury of time to be able to reflect. I said before the last election that my political ambition was not worth the blood of any Nigerian. It is my sincere wish that democracy continues to be consolidated in the continent of Africa. It has always been my consistent desire to help consolidate peace and cultivate democracy in Nigeria and across Africa. We will work for good governance by promoting credible and transparent elections, as well as peaceful power transfers. It is imperative that both the Executive and the Legislative arms of Government institute a Bill of Rights"
On Nigeria, Jonathan says he wants to see "a Nigeria whose government invests in its resources above the ground and not just the resources below. A place where we all work together rather than allow ourselves to be divided by tribalism or prejudice. Nothing better sums up this vision for Nigeria than our national anthem, which sounds as good in prose as in song."
Jonathan said his proudest moment was when he handed over power to Muhammadu Buhari last year.
