Gbaraun Egbesu Ware (House) invaded by soldiers

Soldiers, on Saturday, invaded the Gbaraun Egbesu Ware (House) in Oporoza, Gbaramatu, the traditional worship centre of the Western-Ijaws.

That is considered a sacrilege in Ijawland.

Worship centres should be respected.

In a related development, there are reports that the soldiers were in Oporoza to search for the Tompolo and militants responsible for the upsurge in attack on oil installations.

Many expert groups and persons have advised against the use of military intervention to attempt to stop the militants. Dialogue is the best option for peace to come back to the troubled Niger Delta region.
