The Anglican Church does not support grazing reserve for herdsmen

The Primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh has said that the move to create grazing reserves for Fulani herdsmen around the country does not have the support of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. This is because the move treats a set of people with unwarranted special preference, making them indigens of all regions of Nigeria. According toVanguard, Rev. Okoh said herdsmen are private businessmen who take away all proceeds without sharing with their host communities. The church recommended ranches should be built in their localities for modern animal husbandry.

The Primate made this known at the 3rd Session of the Ninth Synod of the Diocese of Abuja, Anglican Communion.
