EFCC takes Tompolo to court in absentIa

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Monday (18th April, 2016) arraigned Tompolo and six of Patrick Akpobolokemi's brothers, all in absentia, before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on 22 count charge of N47.66 billion NIMASA fraud.

Patrick Akpobolokemi and two ladies, who are also co-defendants in the case were in court and pleaded not guilty while Tompolo and Akpobolokemi's brothers, namely, Igo. Julius, Victor, Norbert, Emmanuel and Clement were declared as being 'now at large' when the charges were read.

The charges bothered on conspiracy, advance fee fraud and money laundry.

The judge, Justice Ibrahim  Buba admitted the accused persons to bail.
