The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he is yet to be convinced that devaluing the naira is to the interest of the common man. He said that he still hold the same conviction which motivated his resistance to devalue the naira when he was military head of state in 1983 for the good of Nigeria against the wish of IMF and World Bank. This assertion he made while receiving the Council of Retired Federal Permanent Secretaries, whose pioneer chairman is Philip Asiodu, at the State House, Abuja on Friday, 22nd February 2016.
