Nigeria in talks with Harry Redknapp to be the next Super Eagles manager

The Nigerian Football Federations wants Harry Redknapp to be the next manager of the Super Eagles.

The former West Ham, Portsmouth, Tottenham and QPR coach is wanted by Nigeria to head the country's 2018 FIFA World Cop qualifying campaign, having failed to qualify for the 2017 CAF Nations Cup tournament with Chad pulling out of the competition, which adversely affected Nigeria's chances at qualifying.

Redknapp, 69, who is a football advisor to Derby County was interim coach of Jordan over two games against Bangladesh (won 8-0) and Australia (lost 5-1), said he enjoyed the international scene.

During his spell at Portsmouth, he managed the legendary Nwankwo Kanu and John Utaka and was once quoted as saying that the future of football lies in Africa because of the love for the game where kids play the game at every corner.

We, at The New Informer would hope a manager of his calibre be appointed, if the football federation must hire a foreign coach.
