University of Port Harcourt closes after peaceful students' demonstration turned violent

The Senate of the University of Port Harcourt has announced that it resolved to close down the University with immediate effect, after deliberating extensively on the violent demonstration by the students, at its 418tj Meeting (Emergency). The Senate therefore directed the students to vacate the University premises before 6.00, Monday, 11th April, 2016.
